A website can be banned from google. What it means ? It means that this website isn't listed anymore in google listings, it doesn't appear in google search engine, if anybody search for it on google, it will be hard to find, in most cases impossible. Unless you write it exactly the same, with its proprer extension, you won't find it. Why do fear being banned by google ? Because google is actually the biggest search engine, it is not the only one, but the one that brings most of the traffic coming from search engines.
